It seems like a nest should be nearby, but I cant find one. They are at least pollenating and that is the good thing. Also I have noticed many black ants this year, a friend in Clinton Hill said he had them too. I think it is just a seasonal cycle. Last year there were swarms of catepillars upstate for a few weeks in July. Garden looks DEE LICIOUS!! I too have had many many wasps in my backyard.
